Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: May 4, 2011
Sponsor: ERCOT
Urgent: Yes
Sections: 3.1.1, 3.1.4.4, 3.1.6, 3.1.6.4, 3.1.6.5, 3.1.6.6, 3.1.6.8, 3.1.6.9, 3.1.6.10
Description: Consistent with Recommendation 6B of the March 15, 2011, Report of the Rotating Blackout Operations Task Force of the ERCOT Board, this Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) revises the deadline for ERCOT approval of Resource Outages from an eight-day notice to a 45-day notice while aligning the new Resource Outage timelines to match those of Transmission Outages.
Reason: This NPRR gives ERCOT the ability to coordinate Resource Outages received with less than a 45-day notice with Transmission Outages. This NPRR also proposes to more clearly define ERCOT’s requirements for withdrawing approval (or acceptance) of Resource Outages if reliability of the ERCOT System is at risk.
