Steady State Working Group

The Steady State Working Group (SSWG), reporting to the Reliability and Operations Subcommittee (ROS), produces seasonal and future load-flow base cases; coordinates tie-line data with neighboring companies; prepares data for and reviews seasonal transmission loss-factor calculations; and provides requested transmission system data and power-flow support documents to market participants. As needed, the SSWG resolves any impending load-flow modeling issues and provides technical support to the ROS.

The SSWG helps maintain the ERCOT Data Dictionary to reflect new business information and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) names and updates the SSWG Procedural Manual to reflect current planning practices and the latest load-flow base case modeling methodologies. The SSWG also assists in the development of ERCOT processes for compliance with North American Electric Reliability Council planning standards.
