Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: Aug 11, 2009
Sponsor: PUCT/TRE/ERCOT
Urgent: No
Sections: 2.1, 6.5.7.6.2.3, 8.1.1.2.1.1, 8.1.1.3, 8.1.1.4, 8.1.1.4.1, 8.1.1.4.3
Description: This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) establishes performance criteria for following energy deployments and/or providing Ancillary Services which must be met by Generation and Load Resources. For performance in providing Ancillary Services, the NPRR includes criteria for both Ancillary Service Capacity Monitoring and for periods during which ERCOT has deployed Ancillary Services. The calculation of energy deployment performance is also updated.
Reason: The purpose of this NPRR is to ensure that the appropriate metrics exist in the affected Nodal Protocol Sections prior to the Texas Nodal Market Implementation Date (TNMID). It is believed that these changes are required to maintain reliability in the Nodal Market. It is not the intent of this NPRR to adversely affect the scope of the ERCOT Nodal reporting effort and thus affect the TNMID. Any reporting requirements included in this NPRR, which are deemed to be outside of the current reporting scope, may be delayed to after the TNMID if it is determined that they cannot be completed under the current Nodal Project schedule.
