Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: Nov 20, 2008
Sponsor: ERCOT
Urgent: No
Sections: 8.1.1.2.1.5
Description: This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) synchronizes the Nodal Protocols with changes being proposed to the zonal Protocols through Protocol Revision Request (PRR) 785. This NPRR changes the required Black Start Unit Load Carrying Test from once every six years to once every five years.
Reason: North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) requires Black Start Unit Testing at a minimum of every five years. This change reduces ambiguity and risk of a NERC compliance violation.
