Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: Oct 28, 2010
Sponsor: ERCOT
Urgent: No
Sections: 6.5.5.2
Description: This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) inserts language into Section 6.5.5.2 to clarify the proper use of Raise Block Status and Lower Block Status telemetry points by Resource operators in Real-Time operations.
Reason: There have been multiple inquiries in market forums about how Raise/Lower Block Status are used in the ERCOT systems, particularly with respect to Load Frequency Control (LFC) and Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED). This NPRR seeks to give clear direction as to when enabling of Block Status telemetry is warranted.
