Problem: Large Electronic Load (LEL) behaves differently than conventional loads and is large enough to impact grid stability.

Solution: Develop deeper understanding of how crypto miners, datacenters, and electrolyzers work and how to model them for grid stability studies.

The Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) models are jointly developed by Texas A&M University and ERCOT to provide an informational resource to represent a generic plant-level behavior of Large Electronic Load (LEL) to help with various industry conversations related to modeling of large loads. These models do not intend to represent specific plant behaviors or specific technologies. ERCOT does not assume any liability in connection with the use of these models consistent with the terms listed on the website.
