Description:
CenterPoint Energy would like TX SET to add a new REF~8X Purpose Code to the 650_01 and 650_02 transaction to allow CRs to request and TDSPs to know when the CR wants the Premise Type verified. There is a code to "Verify Meter Data" (MM005), but that code would only ask TDSPs to obtain meter readings and meter attributes since it is a request to verify meter data. A meter reading and its attributes will not allow a TDSP to know what type of premise is being served by that meter.
Reason:
A specific code will allow the CR to request that code when verification of type of premise applies to the situation without any guess work on the side of both the sender and receiver that is creating by using a different code in the 650_01. A specific code for the TDSP could allow the transaction to be automatically routed to the correct department or field personnel to perform the correct actions without delays or inquiries/communications for additional information from the CR. As more AMS meters are deployed and less field visits are executed by TDSPs to complete transactions these type of request may become more frequent and a specific code would help to remove any questions on what is needed to correctly resolve the 650_01 Service Order Request.
