Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: May 25, 2007
Sponsor: ERCOT Staff
Urgent: No
Sections: 6.8.1.15.1, Uninstructed Resource Charge Process
Description: This PRR modifies paragraph (3) of Section 6.8.1.15.1 to allow ERCOT the discretion to process Renewable Production Potential values when submitted by Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) representing only Uncontrollable Renewable Resources.
Reason: Over the last several months, ERCOT has collected, on average, $11,000 in URC from QSEs submitting Renewable Production Potential values. To process these data, ERCOT uses contractors at an average cost of $4,000 per month. Through this PRR, ERCOT requests the discretion to not process these Renewable Production Potential values and not calculate Uninstructed Deviation Pricing for QSEs that submit such data. Eliminating this manual process will free these contract resources to work on nodal implementation and other matters.
