Lubbock Power & Light Transition

On August 10, 2022, Lubbock Power & Light (LP&L), a Municipally Owned Utility, notified ERCOT of its intent to opt into retail competition for electric service by offering choice in retail electric service to customers within its service territory.  As ERCOT assists LP&L with its transition efforts and coordinates retail market readiness activities with the utility and Retail Electric Providers, it will use this page to provide information, key resources, and periodic updates on the transition to retail competition. LP&L anticipates its transition to competitive retail electric service will be completed in April 2024.
