SHORT DESCRIPTION: Market Readiness weekly meetings for FFRA and FFSS in Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE)

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT will be hosting weekly Market Readiness meetings via WebEx to assist with the required Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) participation in the Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE) from August 29, 2022 through October 7, 2022.

As described in the August 11, 2022 Market Notice (MOTE Market Notice link), certain QSEs are required to participate in MOTE testing prior to implementation of the Fast-Frequency Response Advancement (FFRA) project to mitigate production cutover risks with the changes to submissions of Ancillary Service Offers.  Additionally, all other QSEs are highly encouraged to test submissions in MOTE for impacted transactions, including Ancillary Service Trades, Ancillary Service Self-Arrangements, and Current Operating Plans.  The changes to Availability Plans to include Firm Fuel Supply Service (FFSS) are also in MOTE. 

In coordination with TAC leadership, ERCOT staff will be sending a weekly email to the TAC listserv on testing progress and provide links to the scorecard and meeting materials on the TAC home page (https://www.ercot.com/committees/tac).

ERCOT has attached a list of the QSEs that will be required to participate in weekly MOTE submissions. QSEs were included on the list if they submitted one or more Ancillary Service Offers within the 90 day period of May 15 - August 15, 2022.

The weekly Market Readiness meetings will begin on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 10:00-10:30 a.m. and repeat each Tuesday through October 6, 2022. Details will be sent in a TAC email prior to each meeting.  The timing of the MOTE testing requirements is:

• Weeks 1 & 2 (Aug 15 – Aug 26): MOTE is available, but no submission summary is published
• Weeks 3 & 4 (Aug 29 – Sep 9):  Publish weekly submission summary by QSE (target 50% success)
• Weeks 5 & 6 (Sep 12 – Sep 23):  Publish weekly submission summary by QSE (target 75% success)
• Weeks   7 & 8 (Sept 26 – Oct 7):  Publish weekly submission summary by QSE (target 95% success)

ACTION REQUIRED: These meetings are optional but QSEs are encouraged to join to help minimize any issues impacting their participation in the required MOTE submission activities from August 29 through October 7, 2022.
