SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT's External Web Services Secure Sockets Layer certificate renewal
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Market Participant personnel that administer programmatic access to ERCOT's PROD, MOTE, & RMTE External Web Services
DAYS AFFECTED: March 02 & 09, 2026
LONG DESCRIPTION: On March 02, 2026, ERCOT will replace the ERCOT API Public Key SSL certificate used by the Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE) and Retail Market Test Environment (RMTE) External Web Services (EWS) with a new GlobalSign API Public Key Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate.

On March 09, 2026, ERCOT will replace the ERCOT API Public Key SSL certificate used by the PROD External Web Services (EWS) with a new GlobalSign API Public Key Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate.
ERCOT URLs affected by this change:
API https://misapi.ercot.com
WAN API https://api.wan.ercot.com
Note: there is no impact to Market Participants who access secure ERCOT websites through a web browser.
ACTION REQUIRED: Market Participants must download and install the following into their application's key store:
1.) the new ERCOT MOTE and RMTE API Public Key,
2.) the new ERCOT API Public Key,
3.) the GlobalSign RSA Organization Validation CA - 2018 Intermediate SSL Certificate, and
4.) the GlobalSign Root R3 SSL Certificate
All Certificates, including the updated public key, are available for download on ERCOT.com at http://www.ercot.com/services/mdt/webservices/.
