SHORT DESCRIPTION: Impact Analysis for Hardware Issue Resulting in a Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) Failure to Run

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: September 1, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION: This is an update to the Market Notice sent on September 7th, 2022, regarding a hardware issue that resulted in a SCED Failure to Run. Upon completion of the impact analysis, ERCOT determined the results do not meet the criteria necessary for seeking ERCOT Board approval for price correction in accordance with ERCOT Protocols Section 6.3(7)(b).

Under ERCOT Protocols Section 6.3(7)(b), ERCOT shall seek ERCOT Board review of prices if the change in a Real-Time Market (RTM) Settlement Statement would result in the absolute value impact to any single Counter-Party, based on the sum of all original RTM Settlement Statement amounts of Market Participants assigned to the Counter-Party, to be greater than:

(i)        2% and also greater than $20,000; or

(ii)       20% and also greater than $2,000.

The absolute value impacts to any single Counter-Party and the impact percentages are shown below with regards to the two defining criteria.
