SHORT DESCRIPTION: Implementation details for Fast-Frequency Response (FFR) Advancement project

LONG DESCRIPTION: On October 13, 2022 ERCOT systems will be updated to implement changes related to the Fast-Frequency Response (FFR) Advancement project. The FFR Advancement project is the second phase in the series of work being done to implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 863, Creation of ERCOT Contingency Reserve Service and Revisions to Responsive Reserve.
Language related to the following Nodal Protocol Revision Requests (NPRRs) and Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR) will be partially implemented as a part of this project,
- NPRR863, Creation of ERCOT Contingency Reserve Service and Revisions to Responsive Reserve
- NPRR1015, Clarification of DAM implementation of NPRR863 Phase 2
- NPRR1079, Day-Ahead Market RRS / ECRS 48-Hour Report Clarification
- NOGRR187, Related to NPRR863, Creation of ERCOT Contingency Reserve Service and Revisions to Responsive Reserve
ERCOT hosted a July 25, 2022 workshop to outline the implementation details related to this project. There will also be a separate Market Notice related to required MOTE testing in support of this implementation that will begin August 15, 2022.
ACTION REQUIRED: A QSE that wishes to qualify Resources to provide FFR may submit a request for qualification by contacting its respective ERCOT Account Manager.
