SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Notification of Suspension of Operations for BIG BROWN POWER COMPANY LLC (RE) – Big Brown Unit 1 (BBSES_UNIT1) and Big Brown Unit 2 (BBSES_UNIT2)

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  February 12, 2018

LONG DESCRIPTION:  ERCOT received a Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the following Generation Resources:

• Big Brown Unit 1 (BBSES_UNIT1)
• Big Brown Unit 2 (BBSES_UNIT2)

The NSO indicates that Big Brown Power Company LLC (Big Brown) will decommission and retire the above-referenced Generation Resources permanently on February 12, 2018. The NSO further identifies the Generation Resources as having the following summer Seasonal Net Max/Minimum Sustainable Ratings:

A copy of the NSO is posted under the Notice of Suspension of Operations portlet on the Grid/Generation page of the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area.  An ERCOT Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS. 

ACTION REQUIRED:  Please send any comments you may have regarding this NSO to RMRcomments@ercot.com, with “Big Brown (BBSES_UNIT1 and BBSES_UNIT2) NSO Application” in the subject line.  Comments are due no later than October 27, 2017.  All comments will be posted to the Grid/Generation page of the MIS Secure Area.
