SHORT DESCRIPTION: Re-evaluation of maximum Shadow Price for an irresolvable constraint in SCED
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: September 25, 2017
LONG DESCRIPTION: On September 25, 2017, ERCOT re-evaluated the maximum Shadow Price for an irresolvable constraint that had accumulated a net margin larger than $95,000 on September 23, 2017 per the criteria defined in in Section 3.6.2 of the business practice document, “Setting the Shadow Price Caps and Power Balance Penalties in Security Constrained Economic Dispatch.”
The maximum shadow price for the following contingency/constraint pair was re-determined in accordance with Section 3.6.2 of that same document and will remain as $2,000 per MWh:

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT is implementing a modified maximum Shadow Price for a constraint that was found to be irresolvable per the criteria defined in Section 3.6.1 of the ERCOT Business Practice document, “Setting the Shadow Price Caps and Power Balance Penalties in Security Constrained Economic Dispatch.” The contingency/constraint pair and maximum Shadow Price (set in accordance with Section 3.6.2 of that same document) are as follows:
