NOTICE DATE: September 4, 2025
NOTICE TYPE: W-A090425-01 Operations
SHORT DESCRIPTION: New Far West Texas Import Generic Transmission Constraints (GTCs)
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAYS AFFECTED: September 15, 2025
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has identified a reliability need to limit power transfers in both South-to-Far West and North-to-Far West directions across interfaces that are generally west of an Abilene to Kerrville line. ERCOT is therefore establishing two new Generic Transmission Constraints (GTCs) to manage these transfers. These two new GTCs are modeled in the Network Operations Model as I_FW_S, and I_FW_N.
The purpose of this Notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of these updates. ERCOT will begin enforcing the two new GTCs on September 15, 2025.
Details associated with all GTCs (EMIL ID NP3-770-M, Report ID 11425) can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Grid Transmission page under the Generic Transmission Constraints Methodology Secured Area. A Digital Certificate with role ICE_M_VIEW_ECEII is required to access this ECEII data.
