SHORT DESCRIPTION: Lowering Counter-Party (CP) limit for Point-to-Point (PTP) Obligation bids in the Day-Ahead Market (DAM)

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT is lowering the DAM PTP Obligation bid limit per CP beginning with DAM Operating Day September 5, 2025 to 750 bid IDs per CP per Operating Day. The limit had been 1,000 bid IDs per CP per Operating Day. System Change Request (SCR) 798, PTP Obligation Bid ID Limit, states that ERCOT may implement a decrease to the per CP bid limit via a Market Notice if a timely DAM solution is in jeopardy. ERCOT has observed a significant increase in PTP Obligation bid submissions that may create the need for manual DAM intervention and increases the risk for timely DAM solutions. This new DAM PTP Obligation bid limit will mitigate such risk.  The lower limit will be updated in the Market Submission Validation Rules document on the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area.
