SHORT DESCRIPTION: Results of Price Impact Analysis - Incorrect Generic Transmission Constraint Limit used in the Day-Ahead Market

LONG DESCRIPTION: On July 25, 2025, ERCOT notified Market Participants of an issue concerning an incorrect limit for the Generic Transmission Constraint Sam Switch (SAMSW) that affected the Day-Ahead Market (DAM). See Market Notice M-C072525-01.
In order for ERCOT to seek approval of a price correction by the ERCOT Board of Directors (ERCOT Board), ERCOT Protocol Section 4.5.3(6)(b) requires that the absolute value impact to any single Counter-Party in the DAM must meet one of the following two criteria:
- 2% and also greater than $20,000; or
- 20% and also greater than $2,000.
ERCOT has determined that impacts to the DAM for Operating Day (OD) June 27, 2025 meet the significance criteria for seeking ERCOT Board approval of a price correction. The number of Counter-Parties meeting one of the two criteria for significance for seeking ERCOT Board approval for the price correction are shown in the table below.

ERCOT intends to seek an approval of correction to DAM prices for the impacted OD that met the necessary criteria at the ERCOT Board meeting on September 22, 2025. ERCOT also intends to provide information regarding the price correction to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) at its August 27, 2025 meeting.
