SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Reliability analysis determination for Brownsville Public Utilities Board (SILASRAY_SILAS_6, SILASRAY_SILAS_9)

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  May 29, 2026

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On May 1, 2026, ERCOT received a Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the following Generation Resources:

• Brownsville Public Utilities Board (SILASRAY_SILAS_6, SILASRAY_SILAS_9)

The NSO indicates that on October 29, 2025, the Generation Resources experienced a Forced Outage. As a result of the Forced Outage, Brownsville Public Utilities Board intends to decommission and retire the Resources permanently. The NSO further indicates that the Generation Resources have a Summer Seasonal Net Max Sustainable Rating of 15MW and 39 MW and a Summer Seasonal Net Minimum Sustainable Rating of 14MW and 34 MW, respectively.

Pursuant to requirements under ERCOT Protocols Section 3.14.1.2 (3), ERCOT is issuing an initial determination that the Generation Resources are not required to support ERCOT transmission system reliability and may suspend operations according to the schedule in the NSO.

 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ERCOT has posted the analysis performed to arrive at its determination on the Generation page of the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area. An ERCOT Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS.
