SHORT DESCRIPTION: Partial Implementation Details of NPRR1182, Inclusion of Controllable Load Resources and Energy Storage Resources in the Constraint Competitiveness Test Process

DAYS AFFECTED: January 1, 2026

LONG DESCRIPTION: On January 1, 2026, Protocol language associated with Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 1182, Inclusion of Controllable Load Resources and Energy Storage Resources in the Constraint Competitiveness Test Process, will be partially implemented. 

Specifically, paragraph (3)(e) of Section 3.19.1, Constraint Competitiveness Test Definitions, will be unboxed.  This paragraph is focused on the inclusion of Energy Storage Resources (ESRs) into both the Long-Term and Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) versions of the Constraint Competitiveness Test (CCT). 

The remainder of NPRR1182, including related changes for Controllable Load Resources (CLRs), will be implemented at a later date as part of a separate effort.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In accordance with Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT provides notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
