INTENDED AUDIENCE: NERC-Registered Generator Owners in the ERCOT Region
DAYS AFFECTED: September 4, 2026
LONG DESCRIPTION: Under NERC Reliability Standard PRC-029 Requirement R4, Generator Owners (GOs) must provide certain information to various entities, including Planning Coordinators (PCs) and Reliability Coordinators (RCs).
ERCOT is the PC and RC for the ERCOT Region, and GOs in the ERCOT Region should submit such information by means of ERCOT's Resource Integration and Ongoing Operations - Resource Services (RIOO-RS) system in an "Attachment Only" submission that has "PRC-029 Requirement R4 Information" entered in the "Description" field.
Additionally, under NERC Reliability Standard PRC-030 Requirements R3 and R4, GOs must provide, as applicable, certain information to various entities, including RCs and Balancing Authorities (BAs). ERCOT is the RC and BA for the ERCOT Region, and GOs in the ERCOT Region should submit such information by email to EventAnalysis@ercot.com. If ERCOT has already contacted a GO regarding an event, the GO may provide such information through that existing correspondence.
If a GO must update any dynamic model based on the information submitted under PRC-029 Requirement R4 or as part of the Corrective Action Plan developed and implemented under PRC-030 Requirements R3 and R4, the GO should submit a separate RIOO-RS submission explaining the reason for the submission. The updated dynamic model must appropriately reflect the applicable performance capability and be submitted in accordance with Section 3.2 of the Dynamics Working Group (DWG) Procedure Manual and Sections 5.5 and 6.2 of the ERCOT Planning Guide.
ACTION REQUIRED: GOs in the ERCOT Region should use RIOO-RS to submit the information required by NERC Reliability Standard PRC-029 Requirement R4. GOs in the ERCOT Region should email EventAnalysis@ercot.com the information required by NERC Reliability Standard PRC-030 Requirements R3 and R4. GOs should submit any associated dynamic model updates through a separate RIOO-RS submission explaining the reason for the submission, consistent with the requirements of the documents described above.
