NOTICE DATE: January 30, 2026
NOTICE TYPE: M-A122325-03 General
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Workshop update regarding development of a proposed Batch Study process framework as part of ERCOT's Large Load interconnection process stakeholder engagement plan
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Transmission Service Providers, Large Load Customers, and other interested stakeholders
DAYS AFFECTED: February 3, 2026
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has posted materials for the February 3, 2026 workshop to propose the draft framework for changes to the Large Load interconnection process in connection with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) Project No. 59142, Review of ERCOT's Interconnection Processes for Large Loads.
As described in the December 23, 2025 Market Notice, M-A122325-01 ERCOT Large Load interconnection process stakeholder engagement plan and upcoming milestones regarding development of a proposed Batch Study process framework, ERCOT has been engaging the PUCT and stakeholders on developing a new Large Load interconnection process - called the "Batch Study process." The high-level proposal of the Batch Study process is to group Large Loads that meet certain stringent requirements into a single study to provide Large Load Customers with study efficiency, consistency, transparency, and certainty while maintaining a system-wide focus on reliability.
Details for the February 3 workshop and opportunities to provide feedback are as follows:
- January 30, 2026: Draft framework posted by ERCOT (available at this link, February 3, 2026 workshop)
- February 3, 2026: Workshop at MET Center
- Note that attendance may exceed the capacity of room. We strongly encourage stakeholders to limit the number of people per company and consider early arrival to allow for time to check-in with ERCOT security.
- February 5, 2026, Close of Business: ERCOT requests feedback two ways.
- Written comments can be sent to LLWG_feedback@ercot.com and will be posted publicly as part of the materials for the second workshop on February 12, 2026
- ERCOT will send a Market Notice after the February 3, 2026 workshop with a link to a survey soliciting targeted multiple-choice responses on specific elements of the framework.
This workshop and feedback will set the stage for the second workshop the following week, February 12, 2026 workshop.
ERCOT plans to file a proposed Batch Study process framework for discussion at the February 20, 2026 PUC Open Meeting. Any information regarding the Large Load interconnection process will be filed in PUC Project No. 59142, Review of ERCOT's Interconnection Processes for Large Loads.
