SHORT DESCRIPTION: RTC+B: Implementation of credit provisions of NPRR1013
INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants
DAYS AFFECTED: December 5 and 6, 2025
LONG DESCRIPTION: On December 5, 2025, Real-Time Co-optimization Plus Batteries (RTC+B) project changes related to credit provisions of Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 1013, RTC - NP 1, 2, 16, and 25: Overview, Definitions and Acronyms, Registration and Qualification of Market Participants, and Market Suspension and Restart, will be implemented.
Report Changes on December 5, 2025:
Beginning on December 5, 2025, the afternoon version of the following two reports will have changes implemented:
- Estimated Aggregate Liability (EAL) Detail Report (EMIL ID: NP16-669-SG, Report Type ID: 11179) (ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.7, Credit Monitoring and Management Reports) will include the following new columns in the "RTLCNS Details for all QSEs of the Counter-Party Section" and "RTLF Details for all QSEs of the Counter-Party section":
- Real-Time Ancillary Service Volume (MWh)
- Real-Time Ancillary Service Amount ($)
- Minimum Current Exposure (MCE) Summary Report (EMIL ID: NP16-678-SG, Report Type ID: 13092) (ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.7, Credit Monitoring and Management Reports) will include the following new columns:
- Extrapolated volume of Day- Ahead Ancillary Service- Only Offers Cleared
(MWh) - Extrapolated of Day- Ahead Real- Time Net Ancillary Service- Only Offers Cleared Exposure ($)
Calculation changes on December 6, 2025:
Beginning on December 6, 2025:
- The Minimum Current Exposure (MCE) component of Total Potential Exposure (TPE) calculation (ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.1, Determination of Total Potential Exposure for a Counter-Party) will be updated to include Real-Time Co-optimization (RTC) Ancillary Service (AS) Virtual Offers activity to capture price risk between Day -Ahead Market (DAM) Market Clearing Price for Capacity (MCPC) and Real-Time Market (RTM) Market Clearing Price for Capacity (MCPC).
- The Unbilled Day-Ahead Amounts (UDAA) component of the EAL calculation (ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.3.1, Day-Ahead Liability Estimate) will be updated to include RTC AS Virtual Offers activity.
- Currently: AS activity is captured in AS payments and charges
- With RTC: AS virtual offers are captured in AS payments and charges
- The Real-Time Liability Completed and Not Settled (RTLCNS) and Real-Time Liability Forward (RTLF) components of the EAL calculation (ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.3.2, Real-Time Liability Estimate) will be updated to include RTC AS activity to capture AS payments and charges in RTLCNS and capture AS payments and charges in RTLF (150% of AS payments and charges).
Operating Day December 5, 2025 data:
For Report date December 5, 2025,Operating Day (OD) December 5, 2025 data will not be included in the following calculations:
- UDAA component of EAL under ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.3.1, Day-Ahead Liability Estimate
- Portfolio- Weighted Adder (PWA ci100, m ) component of Future Credit Exposure for Point-to-Point (PTP) Obligations (FCEOBL) under paragraph (2) of ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.5, Determination of the Counter-Party Future Credit Exposure
- Path- Specific DAM Based Adder (A ci99, ctou, (j, k)) component of Future Credit Exposure for PTP Options (FCEOPT) under paragraph (3) of ERCOT Protocols Section 16.11.4.5, Future Credit Exposure for PTP Options (FCEOPT)
Please monitor your Credit Monitoring and Management Reports and manage collateral accordingly.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable but no later than ten days prior to implementation.
