SHORT DESCRIPTION: Market Readiness support for QSEs during implementation of the Fast-Frequency Response (FFR) Advancement project and Partial Implementation of NPRR863, NPRR1015, NPRR1079, and NOGRR187

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: October 13, 2022 and October 14, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION: Details are provided below to summarize and assist QSEs during the operational and system cutover activities later this week in support of the FFRA project and accompanying interface changes.

Timing:

• The upgrade is planned to occur between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

Communication:

• ERCOT Control Room will use the QSE Hotline call for communications before and after the upgrade is complete.
• ERCOT will also post an Operations Message after the upgrade is complete requesting all QSEs to update their Current Operating Plan for Resources carrying Responsive Reserve Services (RRS) as soon as possible.
• ERCOT will be staffing 24-hour coverage for receiving emails with any Market submission questions or technical issues using ClientServices@ercot.com from October 13, 2022 5:00 pm to October 14, 2022 5:00 pm.

Reminder of technical and business process changes:

• Current Operating Plans (COPs): After October 13, 2022 9:00 pm, the COP transaction includes three subtypes for Responsive Reserve Services (RRSPF, RRSFF, RRSUF).
• Ancillary Service Trades (AS Trades): October 14, 2022 is the first Operating Day for new AS Trade types (RRSPF, RRSFF, RRSUF), which replace the current AS Trade types (RRSGN, RRSLD, RRSNC).  October 14, 2022 is the only Operating Day that will support both the old and new trade types.  Note that after the upgrade on October 13, 2022 at 9:00 pm, QSEs will not be able to query or cancel trades for the old types due to the implemented interfaces.  In the event a trade needs to be cancelled, both parties in the AS Trade can contact ClientServices@ercot.com for assistance.
• Ancillary Service Offers and Ancillary Service Self-Arrangement: Day-Ahead Market (DAM) Operations occurring on October 14, for Operating Day October 15, will be the first DAM execution using the three new subtypes for RRS (RRSPF, RRSFF, RRSUF).
• ERCOT will not execute the daily Reconfiguration Supplemental Ancillary Service Market (RSASM) for Operating Day October 14, 2022 due to the system upgrade.

Support and Mitigation during Cutover:

• ERCOT will be staffing 24-hour coverage for receiving emails with any Market submission issues or technical issues using ClientServices@ercot.com. (Please include your XML submission and error message(s) in your request).
• QSEs that are experiencing submission issues can also utilize the Market Management User Interface (MMS-UI) as an alternate data entry tool.
