SHORT DESCRIPTION: 30 Day Notice of the September 18th ERCOT Technical Workshop on the Migration of ERCOT's Network Operations Model from the Common Information Model (CIM) Version 10 to 16

LONG DESCRIPTION: On September 18, 2025, ERCOT will host its first workshop at the ERCOT MET Center starting at 9:30 to discuss the migration of ERCOT's Network Operations Model from the Common Information Model (CIM) Version 10 to 16. ERCOT has begun the effort to migrate its Network Model Management System to CIM 16 and with that, the model files posted by ERCOT will be changing. The purpose of this workshop is to outline the transition to CIM 16, the major changes to the ERCOT model, and to answer questions on the transition.
To help Market Participants prepare for the schema changes to the Network Operations Model associated with this transition, ERCOT has created two CIM 16 representations of the August ML2 CIM Network Operations Model. Note that the model schemas are subject to change as the transition effort progresses.
- A redacted model has been posted to the Preview of Modified Redacted CIM Network Model page of the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS).
- For Transmission Service Providers, a full version of this representative model is posted to the Network Model Management System (NMMS) ERCOT Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (ECEII) Citrix Postings location within the ECEII_NMMS_CIM16_MODELS_PREVIEW folder.
Prior to the workshop ERCOT will also release information on both the CIM 10 and CIM 16 schemas along with a CIM 10 to CIM 16 mapping document here: https://www.ercot.com/gridinfo/modeling.
ERCOT will post the workshop agenda, slides, and an FAQ document by September 11th on this page.
