SHORT DESCRIPTION: Requirement for Disturbance Monitoring Equipment (DME) Installation and Configuration for Large Loads
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Transmission Service Providers (TSPs)

LONG DESCRIPTION: Nodal Operating Guides Sections 6.1.2.2 and 6.1.3.2.2 provide for ERCOT to require installation and configuration of DME, including Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs), sequence of events recording equipment, and Digital Fault Recorders (DFRs) for Loads at a single site with aggregate peak Demand of at least 75 MW behind a Service Delivery Point. Pursuant to its authority, ERCOT will begin requiring installation of such DME by sending an email to each TSP with existing Loads meeting the criteria to coordinate proper locations and deadlines to install DME. Additionally, the ERCOT Large Load Integration team will begin coordinating with TSPs on installing DME for Loads in the Large Load Interconnection process .
ACTION REQUIRED: TSPs shall comply with ERCOT’s requirement to install and configure DME in accordance with Nodal Operating Guide Sections 6.1.2.2 and 6.1.3.2.2. No immediate action is needed until a TSP receives written notification from ERCOT via email.
