SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will migrate core Market Management Systems and Outage Scheduler to a Linux platform on April 29, 2024

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: April 29, 2024 15:30 – 16:30

LONG DESCRIPTION: To align with ERCOT's internal and vendor infrastructure road maps, ERCOT will perform a cutover to migrate production Market Management Systems (MMS) and Outage Scheduler (OS) to a Linux platform from the current AIX platform during 15:30 – 16:00 on April 29, 2024.

The cutover time may be delayed depending on system conditions at the currently scheduled time. ERCOT will make a Hotline call to Market Participants before the start and after the completion of the cutover.

This upgrade does not have any impacts to MMS and OS functionality.

Impacts during the cutover include:

• MMS Security- Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED)/Look Ahead SCED applications may be unavailable for five SCED intervals from 15:35 to 16:00.
• Base Points from SCED may not be created from 15:35 to 16:00. During these interval periods, Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with Resources may be required to follow Emergency Base Points (EBPs) from ERCOT Load Frequency Control.
• SCED Real-Time Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs) may not be calculated and published from 15:35 to 16:00.
• 15-minute Real-Time Settlement Point Prices (RTSPPs) may not be calculated and published from 15:35 to 16:00.
• Dashboards and displays on the ERCOT website will not be populated with data.
• The following Current Day Reports (CDR) publishing and downloading may be unavailable:  
• SCED and RTD reports
• Network Security Analysis (NSA) Active and Inactive Constraint reports
• State Estimator reports
• Real-Time Dynamic Rating Data reports
• Wind Power Production -- 5-minute Averaged Actual values
• Solar Power Production – 5-minute Averaged Actual values
• SOL Exceedance Report

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE) has opened and been available for testing since March 26, 2024. Please refer to Market Notice M-B032024-01.

The Market Manager User Interface (MMS UI) and Outage Scheduler User Interface (OS UI) have been running on Linux platform since July 26, 2023. Please refer to Market Notice M-A072523-01.
