Project Priority Planning Process

ERCOT's annual project planning process ensures that projects are prioritized as part of the transparent system of governance. The project list for the upcoming year is reviewed by the subcommittees; a final review is conducted by the Protocol Revision Subcommittee (PRS); and the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) approves the final prioritized list. To ascertain fiscal responsibility, the Finance and Audit Committee reviews the list and the ERCOT Board reviews and approves the ERCOT budget, which includes funding to support project activity.
