Project Summary
  • This project supports the interim settlement of all provisioned Advanced Meters using actual 15 minute data as defined by PUCT Project 34610 (Interim Solution).
  • Included in this effort is: (a) The creation of a new usage loading process for providing 15-minute interval data to ERCOT from Advanced Meters; (b) Market receipt of interval data from ERCOT using ad-hoc ESIID web services; (3) Seeing that the interim solution is based on using the 15-minute interval data for settlements only; (4) Changes to ERCOT's IT architecture and storage in order to accomodate this significant increase in 15-minute data used in settlements.
  • Benefit Summary Necessary to comply with the requirements of PUCT Subst. R. §25.130. Advanced Metering, HB 2129 and HB 3693, relating to advanced metering.  Accelerates the timeline for the market to take advantage of the benefits of advanced meters. Settling advanced meters on a fifteen minute basis allows Retail Electric Providers (REP) to design innovative products. Enables retail customers to more effectively respond to price signals by supporting innovative retail product offerings, such as demand response, dynamic pricing, and time of use pricing. Through a CR, customers can gain visibility into their electrical usage patterns thus managing their utility consumption by shifting load to off-peak hours. Increased accuracy of wholesale settlements by using actual 15 minute interval data. Provides more readily available actual 15 minute interval data for Initial settlements.
