NOTICE DATE: August 11, 2021

NOTICE TYPE: M-B081121-01 General

SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT.com is experiencing a browser issue that is prompting users to authenticate with a digital certificate.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: August 11, 2021 - Ongoing

LONG DESCRIPTION: Users browsing public content on the ERCOT.com website can experience a browser issue that will prompt the user to authenticate with a client digital certificate.  Users that have a client digital certificate used to access the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) secure area may click on their certificate and continue with no issue.  Users that do not have an ERCOT MIS client digital certificate are receiving an error that prevents further viewing.

ERCOT suggests that users experiencing the site error clear the browser cache and delete cookies to temporarily solve the issue.

ERCOT is currently working to correct the issue by changing all links on ERCOT.com going to the public MIS site, including all public EMIL reports.  A complete list of reports affected will be sent when this work is completed.

ACTION REQUIRED:  Users experiencing the site errors will need to clear browser cache and delete cookies to temporarily solve the issue.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Users will need to change bookmarks and any other links to the new URL once updated.  ERCOT will send an additional notice when the issue is resolved.
