SHORT DESCRIPTION: New West Texas Export Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) replacing West to Central Texas GTC and update to the Generic Limits for the McCamey GTC
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAYS AFFECTED: October 1, 2020
LONG DESCRIPTION: Based on the results of the Quarterly Stability Assessment (QSA) for Q3 and Q4 of 2020, performed pursuant to Planning Guide Section 5.9, Quarterly Stability Assessment, ERCOT has identified a new West Texas Export Generic Transmission Constraint (GTC) to replace the existing West to Central Texas GTC. An update to the Generic Limits for the McCamey GTC was also identified. These updates result from the installation of new Generation Resources in the region.
The purpose of this Notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of these updates. ERCOT will begin enforcing these new and updated GTCs on October 1, 2020.
Details associated with all GTCs (EMIL ID NP3-766-M, Report ID 11424) can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Grid Transmission page under the Generic Transmission Limits Secured Area. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
