SHORT DESCRIPTION: Potential Price Corrections - Incorrect Transformer Ratings Impacting the Real-Time Market and Day-Ahead Market

DAYS AFFECTED: June 8, 2020 - July 6, 2020

LONG DESCRIPTION: On July 8, 2020, ERCOT issued Market Notice M-A070820-01 informing Market Participants that ERCOT would likely seek review by the ERCOT Board of Directors (Board) of Day-Ahead Market (DAM) and Real-Time Market (RTM) prices for various Operating Days (ODs) between 06/08/2020 and 07/06/2020. 

DAM

ERCOT has determined that Day-Ahead Settlement Point Prices (DASPPs), DAM Market Clearing Prices for Capacity (MCPCs), and DAM Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs) for Electrical Buses for the following ODs are in need of correction:

• 06/08/2020 - 06/12/2020;
• 06/15/2020 - 06/17/2020;
• 06/19/2020 - 06/20/2020;
• 06/24/2020 - 06/25/2020; and
• 06/28/2020 - 07/06/2020.

RTM

ERCOT has determined that Real-Time Settlement Point Prices (RTSPPs), Real-Time Price for Energy Metered for Resources (RTRMPRs), and Real-Time Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs) for Electrical Buses for OD 07/01/2020 are in need of correction.

Board Review

ERCOT will seek ERCOT Board review of DAM and RTM prices for certain ODs, as described in this Market Notice, at the October 2020 Board meeting.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ERCOT will present the impact analyses concerning these potential price corrections at the September Wholesale Market Subcommittee (WMS) meeting and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting. Supporting documents and re-calculated prices will be included in materials for the October 2020 Board meeting.
