SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update - Proposal to modify Wirtz Remedial Action Scheme

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has received a revised proposal from Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) to modify the Wirtz Remedial Action Scheme (RAS). The Wirtz RAS is designed to prevent thermal overloads on the Wirtz to Flat Rock to Paleface 138kV transmission line (38T365) during periods of high output from Ferguson Power Station combined with high wind generation in the West and Panhandle regions.

This revised proposal corrected breaker setting details in the proposal document posted and referenced in the March 27, 2020 Market Notice.

The proposal to modify the Wirtz RAS is being reviewed by ERCOT. Comments on the proposal are due by June 26, 2020 and should be submitted to RAS_CMP@ercot.com using the attached comment form.  Any questions or concerns submitted by this date will be addressed by ERCOT or LCRA.

ACTION REQUIRED: Any comments to this proposal are due to ERCOT by June 26, 2020 using the attached form.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Information regarding this proposal and all RASs can be found in the “Remedial Action Schemes and Constraint Management Plans” portlet located on the Long-Term Planning page of ERCOT’s Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area. A Digital Certificate is required to access the MIS Secure Area.
