SHORT DESCRIPTION: Planned system maintenance with impacted services
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: May 11, 2020 15:30 - 17:30
LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT will be performing planned system maintenance of several source databases and applications on May 11, 2020 within a maintenance window of 15:30 - 17:30. During this system maintenance, Market submissions will be unavailable for approximately 15 minutes and real-time communications will be unavailable for approximately five minutes. All systems should re-establish communications automatically.
During the maintenance period, Market Participants may experience intermittent issues with the following services:
- Market submissions and requests via WebServices, Market Manager and Outage Scheduler
- Report publishing to the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS)
- Downloading of extracts and reports from MIS and WebServices
- Net Dependable Capability and Reactive Capability (NDCRC)
- Market Participant Identity Management (MPIM).
Note that the outage is scheduled to begin at approximately 15:30; however, this start time may be delayed depending on the current system conditions. A Hotline call will be made to Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with Resources and Transmission Operators (TOs) to announce the start of the outage, and another Hotline call will be made at the completion of the outage.
ACTION REQUIRED: Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with Resources may be instructed to follow Emergency Base Points during the outage. QSEs and Transmission Service Providers (TSPs) will need to refrain from making submissions in Market Manager and Outage Scheduler during the outage period as the submissions will not be accepted.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Note that the Market Information System (MIS) and Current Day Reports (CDR) system will be impacted. Reports will be rerun and reposted as applicable. The MIS Dashboards and ERCOT.com price displays will not be populated with data during this timeframe.
