LONG DESCRIPTION: On March 1, 2020, ERCOT will implement certain changes to the Other Binding Document titled, "Methodology for Implementing Operating Reserve Demand Curve (ORDC) to Calculate Real-Time Reserve Price Adder" described in OBDRR011. Specifically, ERCOT will implement the second of two rightward shifts of 0.25 standard deviations to the Loss of Load Probability (LOLP) curve as instructed by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and as approved by the ERCOT Board of Directors on February 12, 2019.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: OBDRR011 and associated documents can be found on the ERCOT website. The ORDC average and standard deviation values can be found in the LOLP Distribution by Season and TOD Block report (EMIL ID NP6-576-ER; Report ID 13233) posted on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) on the Markets, Real-Time Market page under the public Scarcity Pricing Mechanism. Please review the ERCOT website for previous Market Notices related to this subject. ERCOT's Operating Reserve Demand Curve web-based training course and Job Aid have been updated to incorporate the change in the LOLP curve.
