NOTICE DATE:  May 17, 2019

NOTICE TYPE:  W-B031519-03 NPRR

SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Implementation Details of NPRR901

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  ERCOT Market Participants

DAY AFFECTED:  May 31, 2019

LONG DESCRIPTION:  On May 31, 2019, ERCOT will implement Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 901, Switchable Generation Resource Status Code.

This NPRR provides a new Resource Status code “EMRSWGR” for Switchable Generation Resources (SWGRs) operating in a non-ERCOT Control Area in order to provide additional transparency for operations and reporting.

Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) with qualified SWGRs will be allowed to submit, through API and the Market Management System (MMS) User Interface, a EMRSWGR COP Resource status to indicate that a SWGR is operating in a non-ERCOT Control Area by hour during the Adjustment Period. Furthermore, QSEs with qualified SWGRs may telemeter a EMRSWGR Resource status through Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP) to indicate that a SWGR is operating in a non-ERCOT Control Area in Real-Time.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Pursuant to Nodal Protocol Section 21.6, Nodal Protocol Revision Implementation, ERCOT is required to provide notice as soon as practicable, but no later than ten days prior to implementation.

NPRR901 and associated documents can be found on the ERCOT website.

ERCOT has posted the final version of the “External Web Services XSD V1.20M” and the “EIP External Interfaces Specification v1.20M” document, which can be found on the XSD page of the ERCOT website in the “External Web Services XSD V1.20M” zip file.

ERCOT has also updated the Current Operating Plan Practices by QSE posted on the Business Practice Manual page of the ERCOT website.  This manual provides additional guidance on this new Current Operating Plan status.
