SHORT DESCRIPTION:  Notification of Miscellaneous Invoices for Interest Payments on Market Cash Collateral

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Counter-Parties

DAYS AFFECTED:  March 28-29, 2024

LONG DESCRIPTION:  In accordance with Protocol Section 16.11.3(1), Alternative Means of Satisfying ERCOT Creditworthiness Requirements, ERCOT has issued miscellaneous Invoices containing interest accrued on Cash Collateral for the year 2023 for Counter-Parties (CPs) with Cash Collateral posted with ERCOT.

ERCOT will distribute the interest on March 29, 2024, in the following manner:

• CPs due $50.00 or less will receive credit to their Cash Collateral accounts, as disclosed in the CP’s Available Credit Limit (ACL) Summary Report found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS); and
• CPs due more than $50 will receive a wire transfer for interest due unless the CP uses its Cash Collateral accounts for all of its ERCOT invoices, in which case ERCOT will post the interest to the CP’s Cash Collateral account.

ERCOT will report interest payments on IRS Form 1099.

ERCOT invests Cash Collateral in accordance with the ERCOT Investment Corporate Standard.

Note that through implementation of NPRR 1184, Update to Procedures for Managing Interest on Cash Collateral, ERCOT will credit the cash collateral account for interest accrued on a monthly basis going forward.
