Compliance
ERCOT complies with the requirements of the ERCOT Protocols and Operating Guides and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards. ERCOT is registered with NERC as the region's balancing authority, interchange authority, planning authority, reliability coordinator, resource planner, transmission operator, and transmission service provider.
Texas Regional Entity (Texas RE), an independent division of ERCOT, works to ensure the reliability of the bulk power system in the ERCOT region by monitoring and enforcing compliance with NERC Reliability Standards; and monitoring and reporting on compliance with the ERCOT Protocols.
