Balancing Energy and Ancillary Service Offers Above Event Trigger Archives
In compliance with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) Substantive Rule §25.505, ERCOT has posted zonal market offers when the market clearing price for energy (MCPE) or market clearing price for capacity (MCPC) is greater than the event trigger. The event trigger is a calculated value for each day that is equal to 50 times the Houston Ship Channel natural gas price index for each operating day.
When the MCPE or MCPC exceeded the trigger value, ERCOT posted the portion of every market participant's price-quantity offer pair for (1) balancing energy service (BES) for that interval and (2) each ancillary service (AS) for that hour that is at or above the event trigger. Each service was evaluated separately against the event trigger for this posting process.
ERCOT disclosed this information seven days after the operating day.
