Operational System Change Schedule

The table below represents a schedule of planned updates to the ERCOT Operational System or Energy Management System (EMS).  Each row of dates is in support of a planned EMS database load (column 4).  This calendar is applicable to all network topology and telemetry changes submitted by transmission service providers (TSP), resource entities (RE), and qualified scheduling entities (QSE).

The Generation Cut-Off date is the ideal date for REs to have resource registration changes for network topology in by to assure successful incorporation into the associated EMS database load date.  Likewise, the Transmission Cut-Off date is the ideal date for TSPs to have transmission network topology changes in by to assure successful incorporation into the associated EMS database load date.  Finally, ERCOT request that all telemetry point changes be submitted by the Telemetry Points Cut-Off date in order to assure changes are incorporated in the associated EMS database load date.

The resource entity (RE) and associated qualified scheduling entity (QSE) are encouraged to coordinate changes in relationships according to the posted schedule.  A change in the operations system is required to establish the operational relationship between QSE and generation resource in ERCOT's EMS.  The RE and QSE are asked to consider the Operational System Change Schedule below when establishing an effective dates for new resource synchronization, new QSE representing resources, and Resource changing QSE. 

Market Participants setting up a new QSE representing resources need to plan across two EMS database load dates to accommodate the new QSE (or subordinate QSE).  The first database load is used to set up the new QSE in EMS and the second database load is used to map resource(s) and telemetry in the EMS.
