Vehicle to Grid
Electric-drive Vehicles have the stored energy and the power electronics that make them a potential source of 60 Hz electricity to the ERCOT grid. When these vehicles are connected to the power lines that provide electric power to homes and business, this is called “vehicle-to-grid" power (or V2G). This innovative, clean technology has the potential to provide from 10 to 12 kilowatts of electricity per vehicle back onto the grid during peak or critical periods.
