POWER WATCH - CONSERVATION NEEDED
ENERGY EMERGENCY ALERT 1
ERCOT has extremely high electricity demand or unexpected loss of large generation units. Operating reserves have dropped below the target threshold of 2,300 megawatts (MW). ERCOT operators will begin a progressive series of emergency procedures - Energy Emergency Alerts (EEA) - to maintain system reliability. Consumers who participate in Emergency Response Service programs or pilots may be subject to load reductions. See the Energy Emergency Alert Communications Matrix on the Reports and Presentations page for more information.
Consumers can help by taking the following steps, especially during peak demand periods:
Public Utility Commission Consumer Hotline: 1-888-782-8477
Office of Public Utility Counsel Consumer Assistance: 1-877-839-0363
