
Scott M. Prochazka
Investor-Owned Utilities Segment
Scott Prochazka is senior division vice president responsible for electric operations at CenterPoint Houston Electric LLC. He has financial and operational responsibility for delivery of electricity to more than 2.2 million residential, commercial and industrial customers around the greater Houston area.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Prochazka served as senior division vice president responsible for gas operations. In this role he had operational responsibility for delivery of natural gas to more than 3.2 million residential, commercial and industrial customers across six states, ranging from Texas to Minnesota.
Before that role, he served as division vice president for customer services and support operations with oversight responsibility for the company’s call centers, credit and collections, billing, issue resolution, fleet management, shop services, surveying and mapping. Mr. Prochazka also held roles as division vice president for Houston gas operations and as executive director of the corporate strategic planning group.
Prior to joining CenterPoint Energy in 2001, Mr. Prochazka worked for Dow Chemical for almost 13 years starting January 1989. There he held roles in sales, purchasing, product management, asset management, supply chain management, strategy development and new business development.
Mr. Prochazka currently serves as chairman of the board for the Texas Gas Association. He is also a board member of Southeastern Electric Exchange and a member of the President’s Advisory Board of the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he received a bachelor of science in chemical engineering.
