Jerry Dreyer, who has served as vice president and chief information officer of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) since September 2011, was named senior vice president in January 2015.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Dreyer served as director of applications services for ERCOT. As director, Mr. Dreyer led the application and vendor teams through the nodal project implementation and stabilization period.
Other recent positions include executive-level technology management positions in the financial services industry with MBNA and Bank of America.
Mr. Dreyer has more than 25 years of experience in information technology. His expertise includes applications development and large project management. He has led efforts to engineer and implement high-availability, real-time systems for financial services and directed numerous departments in support of core processing applications.
He has also served as the technology executive responsible for the planning and implementation of large cross-continent projects and led technology efforts to complete price re-engineering and conversion efforts.
Mr. Dreyer has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Northern Illinois University.
